How We Choose Our Gold

Here's what we believe: there's no right or wrong way to buy jewellery. The only thing that matters is how a piece makes you feel when you put it on.

But people often ask how we choose. Why solid gold, why recycled, why so much 9ct. So here it is. The story of our gold.

Solid gold, all the way through

Every Sorsa piece is solid gold. Gold at the surface, gold at the centre, gold everywhere in between.

We love it because it lives with you. Solid gold can be worn every single day. It can be polished, repaired, resized, passed down and re-loved. It picks up the story of your life and keeps going. A piece you buy at 30 can be on your wrist at 80, and on someone else's after that.

That, to us, is what fine jewellery is for.

Recycled wherever we can

Here's the magic of gold: it's endlessly reborn. Melt it down and it comes back exactly as beautiful as before. Same glow, same warmth, not a single gleam lost.

Recycled gold is identical to newly mined gold in every way that matters. So wherever we can, we choose it. The gold in your necklace may have lived a whole other life before it met you. We love that. Jewellery with a past, made for your future.

Why we lead with 9ct

Our pieces range from 9ct to 18ct, and the design decides. But we often reach for 9ct first, and happily.

It's strong. Pure gold is wonderfully soft, so 9ct, with its higher share of strengthening metals, is the most robust of the fine golds. It's made for real life: keys, beach days, gym bags, hugs. Wear it everywhere.

It's beautiful. 9ct has a soft, pale, quietly luminous glow. It flatters everything, plays beautifully with our gemstones, and never shouts over them.

It's attainable. This is the part closest to our hearts. 9ct solid gold means real, lasting fine jewellery at a price that lets you say yes. It's the same reason we fell for lab grown diamonds. Luxury shouldn't be a someday thing.

And when a design wants that deeper, honeyed richness? We go up to 14ct or 18ct. Some stones simply ask for it.

Made to be worn, not protected
